ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: While agreeing to India’s long standing demand of bilateral dialogue on terrorism, Prime Minister Imran Khan in a televised address also offered Pakistan’s all out support to the Indian government in an investigation into Pulwama attack, the Dispatch News Desk (DND) news agency reported.
“We offer complete support to the Indian government for a joint investigation on the Pulwama attack based on actionable intelligence,” Imran Khan said while addressing the nation about Pulwama incident on Tuesday.
However, Imran Khan also demanded the Indian government to bring forward any proof of Pakistan’s involvement in Pulwama attack. “We advise India to stop blaming Pakistan without any proof or evidence,” he said.
The prime minister said that allowing someone to use its soil to carry out a terror attack in another Country is not in Pakistan’s interest.
“Pakistan was engaged in an extremely important visit. Why would any country indulge in any activity that could undermine its own progress?,” he remarked.
However, Imran Khan also warned India against resorting to any adventurous act, saying that any adventurism on the part of India to threaten the sovereignty of Pakistan will be met with assured retaliation.
“Pakistan will not think of retaliation, we will retaliate,” Imran Khan said.
The prime minister also urged upon India to initiate the dialogue process with Kashmiris, and abandon the conventional tactics of suppressing Kashmir’s by using force.
“There is no military solution to the issue of Kashmir. The only solution is through dialogue,” Imran Khan said.
In addition, he said that we understand that it’s election year in India; and therefore, we call upon the people of India to exercise caution & restraint and not use anti-Pakistan propaganda as a means to an end.
