ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Further 161 people died of Coronavirus across Pakistan in the last 24 hours, according to the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC).

Of them, 111 COVID-19 patients passed away in Punjab, 31 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 11 in Sindh, 4 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), and 2 each in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) and Balochistan.

Additionally, 37,587 people were tested for Coronavirus across the Country on May 3 and 3,377 of them were found positive, recording a ratio of 8.98%.

To date, a total of 837,523 Coronavirus Cases have been recorded and 18,310 people have succumbed to the virus in the Country.

Among provinces, Punjab has so far registered 308,529 Coronavirus Cases and 8,683 deaths, Sindh 286,521 Cases and 4,678 deaths, KPK 120,590 Cases and 3,423 deaths, and ICT 76,492 Cases and 693 deaths.

Similarly, Balochistan has recorded a total of 22,664 Cases and 239 deaths by now, AJK 17,397 Cases and 487 deaths, and Gilgit-Baltistan 5,330 Cases and 107 deaths.

So far, 733,062 COVID-19 patients have recovered from the infection across Pakistan while 86,151 are still battling with the virus.

Meanwhile, the Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives Asad Umar said that it’s the first time that over 164,000 people were vaccinated against COVID-19 in a single day on Monday.

In a tweet on Tuesday, Asad Umar said that the vaccination process of people aged 40 and above was also started yesterday across the Country.
