Meanwhile, in a series of tweets on Monday, the Federal Minister for Planning, Development & Special Initiatives and the Chairman NCOC Asad Umar has urged the people to follow precautionary measures in order to avoid the spread of COVID-19.
Referring to the devastation unfolding in the US and the UK due to the pandemic, Asad Umar said that we will have to play our role and do the right things to save lives and livelihoods.
When 2nd wave accelerated we closed high risk areas identified by our analysis in last week of Nov. In 1st week of dec hospital admissions peaked, in 2nd week patients on oxygen/vents peaked, in 3rd week mortality peaked & then declined. Decisions & results are highly correlated pic.twitter.com/SuAOcTIVnz

Data clearly shows that covid health consequences are strongly correlated with our decisions & personal choices. Hence it’s important that we all take responsibility & take precautions. If we do the right things we shall inshallah continue to safeguard lives & livelihoods

The devastation unfolding in countries like USA & UK these days where there are more cases & covid deaths than at any time in the first wave, show the danger that could face us, if we do not continue to do the right things, with both the state and citizens playing their role
