ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan suffered 74 more COVID-19 deaths on May 16 while 3,232 new infections were registered, according to the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC).

In its latest statistics released on Monday morning, the NCOC revealed that the nationwide positivity ratio stood at 8.80% on May 16 as 36,725 people were tested to diagnose Coronavirus and 3,232 of them were found positive.

The statistics showed that 74 COVID-19 patients passed away in the last 24 hours across the Country. It showed that most deaths occurred in Punjab wherein 44 patients died followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa which recorded 20 deaths on May 16.

Likewise, Sindh and Balochistan recorded 7 and 3 deaths respectively.

As of now, a total of 880,362 Coronavirus Cases and 19,617 deaths have been reported in the Country since the beginning.

The statistics showed that Punjab has so far registered 327,362 Coronavirus Cases and 9,411 deaths, Sindh 299,194 Cases and 4,801 deaths, KPK 127,038 Cases and 3,786 deaths, Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) 731 Cases and 79,221 deaths, Balochistan 23,866 Cases and 267 deaths, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) 18,258 Cases and 514 deaths, and Gilgit-Baltistan 5,423 Cases and 107 deaths.

To date, 792,522 patients have recovered across the Country from the disease; however, 68,223 are still under treatment.
