“Pakistan will also not accept any pre-conditions for talks with India,” the Foreign Office Spokesperson Qazi Khalilullah said at his weekly media briefing in Islamabad on Thursday.

Qazi Khalilullah made it clear that any talks with New Delhi will include the Kashmir dispute.

The spokesman pointed out that there are United Nations resolutions on the disputed region of Kashmir.

“Pakistan wants peaceful resolution of this dispute in accordance with the UN resolutions and the aspirations of Kashmiri people,” Qazi Khalilullah said.

The two neighboring countries were scheduled to be engaged in security talks on August 24 in New Delhi. However, India asked the Pakistani security advisor Sartaj Aziz not to go ahead with his planned meeting with Kashmiri leaders on the eve of the national security advisor level talks.

But Pakistan said that it would not accept any pre-conditions set by India and insisted that talks with Hurriyat leaders are a routine matter. Eventually, the first ever national security advisor level talks between Pakistan and India were cancelled.
