ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Further 5,234 people tested positive for Coronavirus across Pakistan in the last 24 hours with a positivity ratio of 10.43%, according to the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC).

With the detection of fresh infections, now the tally of COVID-19 Cases in the Country has reached 678,165.

COVID-19 Positivity Ratio recorded on April 1, 2021;

Pakistan – 10.43%

Sindh – 2.65%

Punjab – 12.03%

KPK – 13.48%

ICT – 10.72%

Balochistan- 5.76%

AJK – 19.67%

Gilgit-Baltistan – 4.41%

In the last 24 hours, 83 more COVID-19 deaths were also recorded across the Country, raising the total toll to 14,613.

The NCOC data showed that on April 1, 58 COVID-19 patients died in Punjab, 19 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 3 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), 2 in Sindh, and 1 in Balochistan.

To date, Sindh has registered 265,917 Coronavirus Cases, Punjab 225,953, KPK 89,255, ICT 59,401, Balochistan 19,610, AJK 12,984, and Gilgit-Baltistan 5,045.

Whereas out of 14,613 deaths recorded so far in the Country, 6,485 have been registered in Punjab, 4,504 in Sindh, 2,382 in KPK, 572 in ICT, 358 in AJK, 209 in Balochistan, 103 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

So far 607,205 infected people have recovered from the disease across Pakistan with an 89.5% recovery ratio.

As of April 2, 56,347 COVID-19 patients are under treatment in the Country.

Meanwhile, the Federal Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar has once again asked the people to strictly adhere to anti-COVID SOPs to stop the spread of the third wave of the pandemic.

In a tweet, the minister said that the entire region is experiencing a severe COVID-19 spike and it is vital that we all contribute to containing the spread by taking sensible precautions.

Asad Umar advised the people to wear a mask, avoid crowded places, wash hands, and reduce travel to only essential work.
