ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Syed Tariq Fatemi on Monday expressed satisfaction over the friendly, cordial and cooperative relations between Pakistan and Romania, ever since the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations.

In a meeting with the outgoing Ambassador of Romania to Pakistan Emilian Ion who paid a farewell call on him at the Foreign Office in Islamabad on Monday, Fatemi appreciated the outstanding contribution made by the ambassador in furthering the bilateral ties between Pakistan and Romania in diverse areas.

Emilian Ion served as the Romanian Ambassador to Pakistan for over seven years from January 2009 onwards.

Fatemi also expressed his best wishes to the outgoing Ambassador in his future assignments.

In his remark, the ambassador conveyed his sincere gratitude for the support and cooperation extended by the government and people of Pakistan in making his stay in Pakistan productive and fruitful.

Emilian Ion also conveyed his optimism for greater progress and prosperity of the state of Pakistan, as well as the well-being of the people of Pakistan.
