Pakistan, Saudi Arabia vow cooperation to promote international peace, stability

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have desired to further strengthen the cooperation in various fields for promotion of the causes of Muslim Ummah as well as international peace and stability.

A meeting was held between Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Saudi Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Salman Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud at the PM House in Islamabad on Monday.

During the meeting, which was also attended by the federal minister for finance Ishaq Dar and Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, the prime minister and the Saudi Crown prince discussed matters relating to mutual interest.

The prime minister said that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have brotherly relations and have similar views on regional as well as international matters. He said that Pakistan supports efforts of Saudi Arabia aimed at strengthening unity among the Islamic countries.

Sharif said that Pakistan holds Saudi Arabia in the highest esteem and the relations between the two countries are more than fraternal. He said that the large Pakistani community in Saudi Arabia serves as a bridge between the two countries and plays a positive role in the development of Saudi Arabia as well as Pakistan’s economy.

The Saudi Crown Prince expressed his gratitude to the prime minister for the hospitality shown to him and his delegation during the visit.

Later‚ the prime minister hosted a dinner in honour of the visiting dignitary and his delegation.
