BEIJING: Pakistan and China have held detailed talks in Beijing to enhance and reinforce existing strategic bilateral relationship.

This came at a meeting between a six member delegation led by Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal and officials of the National Development and Reform Commission of China in Beijing. They reviewed ways to implement the vision of the leadership of the two countries to further promote bilateral relations.

Speaking at the meeting‚ Ahsan Iqbal said we want to translate traditional and cordial bilateral relationship into robust win-win economic cooperation.

He also elaborated Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s vision of developing Gwadar as an engine for trade and regional growth by setting up industrial and economic zones.

The Minister sought Chinese assistance and investment in energy sector.

Vice Chairman National Development and Reform Commission of China said that the new leadership is keen to translate vision of economic connectivity into reality.

He agreed that integration of China’s West with Pakistan’s South West could unleash enormous trade commercial and economic possibilities for the Asian region.
