ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Thursday underscored the need to enhance trade, economic and educational cooperation between Pakistan and Italy (Pakistan-Italy cooperation).

His remarks related to enhancing Pakistan-Italy cooperation came when the Secretary General of Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Elisabetta Belloni held a meeting him at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad.

During the meeting, Pakistan-Italy bilateral relations as well as regional and International issues of mutual interest were discussed.

Meanwhile, the 4th round of Pakistan-Italy bilateral political consultations was also held in Islamabad today.

In the talks, Pakistan delegation was led by the Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua while the Secretary General of Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Elisabetta Belloni led the Italian side.

Earlier in the morning, a four-member delegation of Kashmir American Council also met the Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi.

Talking to them, Qureshi said that says Jammu and Kashmir is the corner stone of Pakistan’s foreign policy and the Kashmir issue needs to be resolved under the UN Security Council’s Resolutions as per aspirations of the people of occupied Kashmir.

The foreign minister said that Kashmir dispute is an internationally recognized issue and the Kashmiri diaspora is making commendable efforts to highlight this issue at international fora.
