ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Federal Minister for Inter Provincial Coordination Dr. Fehmida Mirza has said that Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) is committed to provide maximum facilities for sports.
“Prime Minister of Pakistan himself is a sportsman and is keen and committed to promote sports in the country,” she said while addressing the opening ceremony of Annual Sports/Spring Gala 2019 organized by Punjab Group of College at Pakistan Sports Complex in Islamabad on Wednesday.
Dr. Fehmida Mirza said that after 18th amendment, sports is a provincial subject and the federal government expects that provincial governments must take adequate measures to promote sports culture in their respective domains.
The minister congratulated Punjab Group of Colleges for organizing such an event and also appreciated the spirit of the participants.
“It is good to see such a huge participation of girls in the sports event. From Independence of Pakistan to the revival of democracy, from education to sports, women of Pakistan had always played a vital role,” she said.
Fehmida Mirza underscored the importance of inculcating the values of Unity, Faith and discipline. She also suggested the administration of Punjab Group of Colleges to make it mandatory for all its campuses to have sufficient sports facilities.
“Pakistan is a blessing of Allah. We should all value it. It is our responsibility to raise our flag high at every level” the minister urged.
Dr. Fehmida Mirza also asked the students to play a role of a responsible citizen and participate in Prime Minister’s Cleaning and Green Movement. She also advised the participants to keep the sportsman spirit alive and promote the name of the country.
