ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan has strongly condemned the suicide blast in Jalalabad, the Capital City of Afghanistan’s Eastern Nangarhar Province.
On Sunday at least 19 people, 10 of them from Afghanistan’s Sikh Community, were killed and 20 wounded in a suicide explosion in Jalalabad.
In a statement issued on Monday, the Office of the Foreign Office Spokesman in Islamabad said that Pakistan strongly condemns terrorist attack in Jalalabad, killing and injuring many innocent civilians on Sunday.
“We are distressed and grieved at the loss of precious human lives. We express our deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences to the families and friends of those who have lost their lives and pray for early recovery of the injured,” it said.
The Foreign Office Spokesman further said that Pakistan reiterates its condemnation of terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.
The group of Sikhs were on their way to meet the Afghan President Ashraf Ghani who is on a tour of the province when the explosion happened.
