ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan on Friday joined the International Community in strongly condemning the twin suicide blasts at a crowded market in Iraq’s Capital Baghdad, causing several fatalities.
On Thursday, two suicide blasts ripped through a market in Bab al-Sharji area of Baghdad which resulted in deaths of at least 32 people and injuries of 110 further.
“We convey our deepest condolences to the bereaved families and pray for the speedy recovery of those injured in these gruesome terrorist attacks,” the Foreign Office Spokesperson Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri in a statement on Friday.
The Spokesperson said that Pakistan condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations and stands in solidarity with the brotherly government and people of Iraq in their fight against terrorism.
The Iraqi Military Spokesman Yahya Rasool said that two suicide bombers detonated their explosives as they were being pursued by security forces.
The Islamic State (IS) group said that it was behind the suicide bombings in Baghdad.
