RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: Pakistan on Wednesday successfully test fired Ghauri missile, capable of carrying both conventional and nuclear warheads up to a distance of 1,300 kilometres.
In a statement, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that the launch was conducted by a Strategic Missile Group of the Army Strategic Command that was aimed at testing the operational and tactical readiness of Army Strategic Force Command.

The launch was witnessed by senior officers from Strategic Plans Division, strategic forces, scientists and engineers of strategic organisations.
The Director General Strategic Plans Division Lieutenant General Zubair Mahmood Hayat congratulated the scientists, engineers and all ranks of Strategic forces. He expressed his full satisfaction over the excellent standard achieved by Strategic Forces during training which was duly reflected by proficient handling of the weapon system in the field and fulfillment of laid down operational and technical objectives.
Lieutenant General Zubair emphasised that Pakistan can be justifiably proud of its defence capability and the capability of its nuclear deterrence.
The successful training launch was also warmly appreciated by President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif who congratulated the strategic forces, scientists and engineers on their outstanding achievement.
