ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Further 2,363 people were tested positive for Coronavirus, and 54 passed away in the last 24 hours, taking the total tally of infections and fatalities to 527,146 and 11,157 respectively across Pakistan.
As per the National Command & Operation Centre (NCOC) data, 43,744 COVID tests were conducted throughout the Country on January 20.
Of those, 16,635 tests were conducted in Punjab, 13,632 in Sindh, 6,234 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), 5,798 in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), 584 in Balochistan, 442 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), and 419 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
The results found 2,363 people positive, recording a national positivity ratio of 5.4%.
Similarly, of those died of COVID-19 on January 20, 25 patients breathed their last in Punjab, 13 in Sindh, 12 in KPK, 3 in AJK, and 1 in Balochistan.
So far, Punjab has recorded a total of 4,501 COVID deaths, Sindh 3,843, KPK 1,811, ICT 460, AJK 248, Balochistan 192, and Gilgit-Baltistan 102.
With regard to infections, Sindh remains atop with 238,470 Coronavirus Cases, Punjab has so far registered 151,603 Cases, KPK 64,373, ICT 40,430, Balochistan 18,670, AJK 8,706, and Gilgit-Baltistan 4,894.
However, to date, 480,696 COVID patients have recovered now across Pakistan.
As of January 21, 35,293 patients are yet under treatment and of them, 2,820 are admitted in hospitals.
Meanwhile talking to media in Islamabad, the Prime Minister’s Advisor on Health Dr. Faisal Sultan said that the government machinery is functional in procuring Coronavirus vaccine and we will be able to vaccinate 1.1 million people and procure vaccine for 200 million populations till the first quarter of 2021.
Dr. Faisal Sultan said that the registration of 400,000 health workers has been completed for vaccination in the first phase.
The advisor said that the government will provide Coronavirus vaccine to the people free of cost.
