ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Three innocent civilians embraced shahadat (martyrdom) while one child sustained serious injuries when the Indian army opened indiscriminate and unprovoked firing along the Line of Control (LoC) in Shahkot and Khuiratta Sectors on October 24.

The martyred civilians included Ilm Din S/O Zulfiqar, Gul Zarin S/O Ilm Din and Sultan S/O Gul Zarin. They were residents of village Lala, Tehsil Athmaqam, District Neelum.

Whereas the injured four-year-old Iqra was the daughter of Muhammad Aftab, and a resident of village Jugulpur, Tehsil & District Khuiratta.

Meanwhile, the Director General (SA & SAARC) Dr Mohammad Faisal, summoned the Indian Deputy High Commissioner Gaurav Ahluwalia today (Friday) and condemned the unprovoked ceasefire violations by the Indian occupation forces along the Line of Control.

The director general (SA & SAARC) urged the Indian side to respect the 2003 Ceasefire arrangement; investigate these and other incidents of ceasefire violations; instruct the Indian forces to respect the ceasefire, in letter and spirit and maintain peace on the LoC and the Working Boundary.

Dr Faisal urged that the Indian side should permit the United Nations Military Observers Group for India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP) to play its mandated role as per the UN Security Council resolutions.
