SportsPakistan Super League: Australia not to back players participating in PSL

KARACHI: Cricket Australia on Wednesday said that they wouldn’t support any contracted players participating in Pakistan Super League (PSL), giving a setback to Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) efforts to bring international stars for PSL, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported.

“Due to the ongoing security concerns in Pakistan, Cricket Australia and the Australian Cricketers’ Association would not be supportive of any international or state contracted player participating in the Pakistan Super League,” a spokesman of Cricket Australia told Dispatch News Desk (DND).

Since PCB launched PSL earlier this month, this is the first time that any cricket board has publicly denied to support the League.

PCB has already offered a life insurance worth $2 million for players participating in Pakistan Super League. But the International union of Cricketers, FICA wasn’t impressed by this offer. FICA, along with England’s players association (PCA) has advised international cricketers to stay away from the League.
