Pakistan, Sweden agree to further strengthen bilateral ties

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The annual political consultations between Pakistan and Sweden were held in Stockholm on Wednesday, the Foreign Office said in a statement.

The Foreign Offices said that during the consultation, the two countries agreed to further strengthen the existing bilateral ties in various areas including political, parliamentary, economic and culture.

The additional Secretary Europe Nadeem Riyaz represented Pakistan while head of department for asia and pacific region of the Swedish ministry of foreign affairs Helena Sangeland led her country’s delegation.

The two sides decided to further enhance institutional linkages in education and explore new avenues of cooperation.

They agreed to explore possibilities for furthering relations in areas of energy, renewable energy and Green technology.

It was agreed that the next round of consultations between Pakistan and Sweden will be held in Islamabad in 2015.
