ISLAMABAD:  Pakistan’s Foreign Office said on Wednesday that the issue of Kashmir will be raised in the 12th OIC summit where Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar will represent Pakistan, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported.

Two-day session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) begins today (Wednesday) in Egypt’s Cairo city. The session will also review situation in Syria and other Muslim countries.

The heads of state and leaders from 57 Islamic states, excluding Syria, started arriving in Cairo. They included Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who is the first Iranian president to visit Egypt in 34 years.

Hina will apprise the OIC summit on the situation of Muslims in Indian-held Kashmir, and highlight the country’s position on key issues of interest to the Muslim Ummah, Officials said.

The minister on the sidelines of the summit will also co-chair the OIC’s Contact Group meeting on Jammu and Kashmir with the OIC Secretary General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu.
