ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: With the assistance of Ukraine, Pakistan will produce modern battle tanks as per a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the two Countries for defence cooperation at United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Tuesday.
Talking to media in Islamabad, an official communication by the Ministry of Defence Production (MoDP) said that Pakistan and Ukraine will cooperate in building, modifying, rebuilding and upgrading tanks in Pakistan.
The Chairman Heavy Industries Taxila (HIT) Lt General Muhammad Naeem Ashraf signed the MoU on behalf of Pakistan with the concerned Ukrainian official.
Meanwhile, the Minister for Defence Production Rana Tanvir Hussain held meetings with his counterparts representing numerous nations on the sidelines of the ongoing International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX) in UAE.
In a meeting with the Minister of Public Affairs South Africa Lynn Brown, Rana Tanvir Hussain discussed matters of mutual interest.
The minister extended invitation to the South African minister to visit to Pakistan which she accordingly conceded to.
The minister for defence production also had a separate meeting with the Minister for Trade and Industry of Czech Republic and discussed matters of bilateral importance.
Earlier, the minister visited the stall of world fame defence production companies like, Aalisons Transmission, Docking, Rockwell Collins and Northrop Gruman.
