ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Federal Minister for Defense and Water and Power Khawaja Muhammad Asif has said that Pakistan is looking for strengthening of relations with Italy.
In a meeting with the Italian Ambassador to Pakistan Stefano Pontecorvo and the President Italian Company Fiocchi Munizioni Stefano Fiocchi who called on the minister in Islamabad on Wednesday, Asif said that mutual trade, business and people-to-people contact may be increased for strengthening Pakistan-Italy relations.
The two sides held a discussion regarding areas of mutual interest and cooperation in the field of defense and energy sector during the meeting.
The minister said that there was a lot of potential in Pakistan in the field of energy, defense, trade, scientific and technological development which need to be exploited.
In his remarks on the occasion, the Italian envoy apprised about the friendly relations Pakistan and Italy are enjoying at various level.
