ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: President Dr. Arif Alvi has said that Pakistan attaches great importance to its ties with Nepal and wants to further expand and strengthen its bilateral relations with Nepal in the areas of mutual benefit.

While talking to Pakistan’s Ambassador-designate to Nepal Syed Haider Shah who met him at Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad on Wednesday, the president congratulated the ambassador-designate over his appointment as Pakistan’s Envoy to Nepal, and said that Pakistan and Nepal have considerable potential to further improve economic, political and cultural relations.

Pakistan-Nepal relations - President Dr. Arif Alvi has said that Pakistan attaches great importance to its ties with Nepal and wants to further expand and strengthen its bilateral relations with Nepal in the areas of mutual benefit. While talking to Pakistan’s Ambassador-designate to Nepal Syed Haider Shah who met him at Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad on Wednesday, the president congratulated the ambassador-designate over his appointment as Pakistan’s Envoy to Nepal, and said that Pakistan and Nepal have considerable potential to further improve economic, political and cultural relations. The president underscored the need for exploring new sectors of bilateral economic cooperation like agriculture, pharmaceuticals, Information Technology (IT), textiles and surgical instruments. President Arif Alvi expressed the hope that the new ambassador would actively work for further strengthening economic and cultural relations between the two Countries. The president asked the ambassador-designate to expose India over human rights abuses in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and other Minorities groups of India during his interaction with the Diplomatic Community.

President Arif Alvi expressed the hope that the new ambassador would actively work for further strengthening economic and cultural relations between the two Countries.
