LAHORE, Pakistan: Federal Minister for Planing and Development, Ashan Iqbal Thursday said that Pakistan will generate 11,000 mega watt more electricity by 2018 and will further increase upto 45,000 mega watt by 2025.
Addressing 6th international conference on management research at Superior University Raiwind road here, he said that Pakistan’s power generation projects were mostly environment friendly.
He said that government was giving preference to investment in Hydel and Wind Projects in power sector to save the country from pollution. He asked the universities to work as an engine for development and research in all sectors.
The minister said that two years ago, the foreign media had been painting Pakistan as a negative and terrorist country, but now internationally Pakistan was being seen as a changed country.
He said that now Pakistan was the safe country for foreign investment. He said that Pakistan was a responsible state and was aware of its responsibility.
He hoped that foreign delegates of this conference will return from Pakistan with good impression about our country.
Earlier, Chaudhry Abdul Rehman the Chairman of Superior University welcomed the minister.
The delegates of France, United Kingdom, United States, Italy and Indonesia also participated in the conference.
