The renowned Pakistani academic and policy expert Dr Adil Najam has been appointed as the President of World Wildlife Fund (WWF).“We are delighted to announce the appointment of the globally renowned academic and policy expert Dr Adil Najam as the next President of WWF International,” the leading global conservation organization wrote on Twitter on Monday.
Dr Adil Najam will assume the post from the outgoing interim President Neville Isdell, beginning on July 1, 2023.
Adil Najam is currently the Dean Emeritus and Professor at Pardee School of Global Studies, Boston University.
Previously, he served as the Vice Chancellor of Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) in Lahore from August 2011 to June 2013.
The newly appointed WWF President has written and edited numerous books and more than 100 scholarly articles exploring sustainable development, Muslim and South Asian politics, environmental politics in developing countries, and philanthropy among immigrant communities in the United States.
