ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The five-member new bench of the Supreme Court hearing Panamagate Case which involved Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his Family on Wednesday announced to hear the Case on daily basis.
The bench headed by Justice Asif Saeed Khosa and Comprising Justice Ejaz Afzal, Justice Gulzar Ahmed, Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed and Justice Ijaz ul Ahsan began fresh hearing of the Panama Case, a few days after it was re-constituted following the retirement of Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali.
During the hearing, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) lawyer Naeem Bokhari said they had no objection to the present bench.
Justice Azmat Saeed said that if there was no objection to the bench then avoid giving statements through media.
Justice Asif Saeed Khosa said that a new bench on Panama Papers had been constituted and it would examine all papers. He also announced that the bench would hear the Case on daily basis.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Sharif family submitted an application before the Supreme Court, seeking permission to change its counsel in the Panama Papers case.
Sources said that Makhdoom Ali Khan would be the Counsel of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif while Salman Akram Raja would represent his sons Hussain Nawaz and Hassan Nawaz. Likewise, Shahid Hamid would be the lawyer of Maryam Nawaz in the Case.
On the other hand, the PTI submitted more documents in the Supreme Court related to the Panama Papers, claiming that Maryam Nawaz was the beneficial owner of Minerva Financial Services Limited which held Nielson Enterprises Limited and Nescoll Limited.
