ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Dr Tahirul Qadir led Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) has announced that it will not participate in sit-in of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in Islamabad on October 30.

“We have rejected the invitation of PTI to participate in their sit-in,” the PAT office bearers said on Monday.

Meanwhile, according to sources, the PAT leader Dr Tahirul Qadri has refused to meet a delegating of PTI comprising Jehangir Tareen and Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar in London, arguing that he will settle the issues in direct talks with PTI Chairman Imran Khan.

Sources said that the Awami Muslim League (AML) Chief Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed met the PAT leader and tried to convince him for talks with the PTI delegation. However, Tahirul Qadir reminded Sheikh Rasheed of PTI’s broken promises in the past and also complained about some inappropriate comments made by a few PTI’s senior leaders.

The PTA Chief said that he is not willing to hold talks with PTI delegation rather he will like to have direct conversation with Imran Khan to settle the issues.

The PTI plans to hold a massive protest adjoined by sit-in in Islamabad on October 30 in a bid to pressurize the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government to initiate the accountability process against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif after his family’s names surfaced in Panama Papers.

Earlier in the day, the PTI Chairman Imran Khan met party Leaders in Islamabad to discuss the PTI’s October 30 protest.

“We will not tolerate any harm done to our workers,” the PTI Chairman warned on the occasion adding that the duration of sit-in may extend. “This time it would be sit-in plus,” Imran Khan said.
