ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: As fall breezes turned bitter, people started enjoying cold nights of winter season with hot chicken soup at roadside stalls all over the Country.
A large number of people can be seen enjoying chicken soup either by standing near soup stalls or sitting in shops and restaurants.
Chicken corn soup is most favorite drink of the people. Stalls selling soup can be found in great number. The soup is prepared from simple ingredients of chicken, corn flour and eggs.
A customer Umer Ikram said that he heard someone saying that chicken soup is also called grandma’s penicillin due to its healing effects upon health, but the way it was being served “wastes all its benefits.”
Muhammad Asif Jamal another customer said while taking a sip of soup at a stall that despite the fact that there was so much dust around the stall, he could not resist the temptation.
“Chicken corn soup is such a good seller during the cold evenings. We open shop at 5pm every day and sometimes my son has to go back home to get more soup two or three times when we run out here, said a vendor Ikram Hussain at roadside.
All soup vendors usually do good business from November to the beginning of March, he added.
