ISLAMABAD: Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid has said execution of the death sentence had been halted temporarily.
In an interview‚ he said it has been done as the President Zardari had expressed the desire through a letter to discuss the matter with the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
The Minister said according to the law the President is the final authority to approve the execution of death penalty.
He said the President is on a foreign visit nowadays and the decision regarding the death sentence would be taken on his return.
