ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Prime Minister’s Adviser on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam has said that they would impose a complete ban on the usage of plastic bags in Islamabad.
While addressing a Ceremony in Islamabad held on Saturday in Connection with a Forestation Campaign, Amin Aslam said that they plan to plant 15 Crore trees in 2019.
The adviser said that the responsibility of planting trees doesn’t lie only on the government but every Pakistani Citizen must proactively participate in it.
Malik Amin Aslam said that Pakistan suffered a loss of US $4 billion caused by Climate Change.
Amin Aslam said that they didn’t receive money from donors for the Forestation Campaign in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Furthermore, he said that they have retrieved 700 Acre Land in Pindigheb, Tehsil of Punjab’s Attock District.
The Mayor Islamabad Sheikh Ansar Aziz also participated in the Ceremony, and in his address he said that they planted three Lacs tree last year whereas this year, their aim is to plant five Lacs trees in the Federal Capital.
