ISLAMABAD: Munir A. Malik, an eminent lawyer, has been appointed as Attorney General of Pakistan on Friday, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported.
Earlier, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif sent the advice to the President to appoint Munir A. Malik as the country’s new Attorney General.
Malik replaces currently attorney general Irfan Qadir who has been facing contempt proceedings before the Supreme Court
Munir A. Malik is the former president of the Supreme Court Bar Association and was a leading figure in the movement for the reinstatement of judges deposed by former military ruler Pervez Musharraf.
