ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Imran Khan has asked his Special Assistant on Petroleum Nadeem Babar to resign, the Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar told media.

While addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Friday, Asad Umar told that neither the Special Assistant on Petroleum Nadeem Babar nor the Secretary Petroleum Mian Asad Hayaud Din has been found guilty in the Petroleum Crisis that occurred in June last year.

However, they have been asked to resign for ensuring a transparent investigation into the matter.

The minister told that a Committee will be formed on the report of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), and which will present its recommendations to Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Asad Umar said that mafias won’t be spared at all, adding that the process of bringing culprits to justice has begun.
