ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday performed the groundbreaking of rehabilitation and up-gradation of Jhal Jaho Bela road in Islamabad.
The 80-kilometer road is a project of the Balochistan government to be completed by the National Highway Authority (NHA)
The two-lane Jhal Jaho Bela road project will be completed in three years’ time at a cost of Rs 11,835 million.

The completion of the road project will facilitate the movement of Balochistan’s people to other areas and bolster their socio-economic as well as industrial, trade, agriculture, tourism, and cultural activities.
It will also provide 300,000 job opportunities to the local people.
Jhal Jaho Bela road is also of immense importance to promote trade links with Iran, Afghanistan, and the Central Asian States.
Performing the groundbreaking of Jhal Jaho Bela road, Prime Minister Imran Khan pointed out that the road projects being executed by the present government are less in rates when compared with those completed in previous regimes.
The prime minister said that we are spending Rs 200 million less on a four-lane road than the ones executed back in 2013 which, he added, demonstrates how much tax payers’ money was plundered in the past. He assured to make the findings of the investigation public.
Imran Khan reaffirmed the determination to ensure equitable development in order to make Pakistan strong. He said that we are focusing on the development of backward areas to bring them at par with the developed ones.
The prime minister especially stressed for improving connectivity in Balochistan saying this is vital for the development of the province as well as Pakistan.
