ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday presided over a high-level meeting in Islamabad to review the Karachi situation.
During the meeting, the prime minister was briefed on the “Karachi Transformation Plan”.
In the meeting, the Sindh Governor Imran Ismail, the Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Chairman Lieutenant General Muhammad Afzal, and Secretaries of relevant Ministries were present.
The Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Syed Ali Haider Zaidi also attended the meeting through video link.

In his remarks at the meeting, the prime minister said that the development of the Country is linked with Karachi’s development.
The prime minister that the federal government is fully cognizant of problems being faced by the people of Karachi. He said that they can’t turn a blind eye to the plight of the people in Karachi.
Imran Khan said that the federal government will play its due role to resolve Karachi’s issues.
The prime minister directed that the “Karachi Transformation Plan” be finalized this week in consultation with all stakeholders so that the process of its formal approval and implementation could begin.
