ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has strongly condemned the incident of terrorist attack on a vehicle of the Pakistan army at North Waziristan that resulted into the martyrdom of Second Lieutenant Abdul Moeed and Sepoy Basharat. 

The 21 years old Second Lieutenant Abdul Moeed and Sepoy Basharat were martyred when terrorists fired on army vehicle from surrounding mountains in North Waziristan agency.

In his message on Tuesday, the prime minister extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and prayed to Almighty Allah for blessing the departed souls with eternal peace.

The prime minister said that these matchless sacrifices of precious human lives in the war against terrorism will always be remembered as they form the most important aspect of our national history.

“They have sacrificed their most valuable asset for the sake of our homeland. There is nothing material to match up to their sacrifices,” the prime minister said.

“As a nation, we will never forget the greatest contributions of our valiant Armed Forces in the war against the enemies of our Country”.

Khaqan Abbasi stressed that Pakistan, by the grace of Almighty Allah, has defeated the monster of terrorism by breaking the backbone of terrorists’ network across the Country.

“We have won this war and will, God willing, eliminate the remains very soon,” he said.

Second Lieutenant Abdul Moeed hailed from Burewala, Vehari while Sepoy Basharat was from Danyor Village of Gilgit-Baltistan.

Meanwhile, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa also paid tribute to jawans martyred in terrorist attack in North Waziristan.

“Freedom is not free, it costs sons of the soil. Freedom that we enjoy today is owed to so many such brave hearts. Salute to our martyrs,” the COAS was quoted as saying in a tweet by the Director General Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor.
