ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The National Highway Authority (NHA) Chairman Shahid Ashraf Tarar called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Islamabad on Saturday and briefed him regarding new infrastructure projects initiated by the government.
The prime minister was informed that construction of Karachi-Hyderabad motorway will start in the last week of December while ground breaking of motorway E-35 (Burhan-Havelian) will be done in the last week of December.
Sharif directed the NHA chairman that work on Karachi-Hyderabad motorway and Khanewal-Lahore motorway should be completed as soon as possible. He also said that Pindi Bhattian to Faisalabad motorway is being planned to be converted from existing four lanes into a six-lane motorway.
The premier said that major infrastructure projects including motorways will be completed during the tenure of the present government. He added that large-scale infrastructure development projects play a pivotal role in boosting the economy.
