ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has directed all the concerned ministries to coordinate seamlessly in order to ensure steady supply of petrol in all parts of Pakistan.
In a meeting held in Islamabad on Thursday to review petroleum matters, the prime minister directed the concerned departments to ensure that the general public is kept informed about the current supply situation through media to dispel any impression of shortage.
The prime minister said that strict action would be taken against all those responsible for creating this hardship for the people.
The meeting which reviewed supply and demand situation of petroleum for the next two months was attended by the Federal Minister for Finance Muhammad Ishaq Dar; Federal Minister for Water & Power Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Secretary Finance and Secretary Water and Power.
Petrol supply has improved in country
Meanwhile, the supply of petrol has been normalized in the country to a large extent after the immediate measures taken by the government, Radio Pakistan reported citing the sources.
The Pakistan State Oil (PSO) sources that supply situation in the Punjab has improved with the arrival of 50,000 tons of petrol. They said that another vessel carrying 50,000 ton fuel will reach Karachi Port on Saturday that will further ease the situation.
There is no shortage of petrol in Sindh and other parts of the country.
