ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah on Tuesday once again lashed out over the absence of Ministers in the House, saying that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has ended the difference between democracy and dictatorship.

His statement came as session of the National Assembly began on Tuesday morning with the Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq in the Chair; however, the ministers belonging to the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) remained absent from the House.

“We can support a dead democracy but not a dictatorship,” Khursheed Shah said.

Khursheed Shah said that nobody comes in the Parliament while decisions are made outside the Parliament.

The opposition leader said that how can ministers come in the Parliament when the prime minister himself doesn’t come to the Parliament. He said that prime minister’s presence in the Parliament remained only six percent in four years.

Earlier last week, the Chairman Senate Mian Raza Rabbani offered to resign to register his protest against the continued absence of the ministers for the Upper House. He argued that as the government was not ready to accept the Constitutional role of the Senate.

Talking about the murder of Abdul Wali Khan University student Mashal Khan, Khursheed Shah said that nobody cares about the sensitive matters of national security. He said that nobody is willing to give any statement on Mashal Khan issue.

“The government is a complete failure,” he added.
