ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will launch the maiden Interest Free Loan Scheme in Islamabad on Thursday, a move that would usher in a new era of socio-economic development of the country.
A meeting presided over by the Chairperson Prime Minister’s Youth Programme Maryam Nawaz Sharif was held in this regard in Islamabad on Wednesday.
Under the scheme, 200,000 interest free loans of up to Rs50,000 would be provided to sponsor productive micro-enterprise activities by the poor in rural and urban areas.
The chairperson said that 50 percent of the loans have been set aside for women. The scheme will cover 200,000 people in the first year.
