ZHOB, Pakistan: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday performed the ground breaking of two vital road arteries of the Western Corridor of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), the upgradation of Zhob-Mughal Kot road (N-50) and Qila Saifullah-Waigam Rud road (N-70).
Earlier upon his arrival, the prime minister was received by the Governor Balochistan Muhammad Khan Achakzai and the Chief Minister Sanaullah Zehri.
Minister for States and Frontier Regions (SAFRON) Abadul Qadir Baloch, leaders of political parties including Maulana Fazalur Rehman, Mahmood Khan Achakzai, Mir Hasil Bezanju, Mian Iftikhar Hussain, Mushahid Hussain Syed, Abbas Afridi, and others also accompanied the prime minister.
The upgradation of these roads would spur development activities in Balochistan province, bringing bright prospects for trade and business. These arteries will also reduce travelling time manifold by better and easy land connectivity with the other provinces.
Meanwhile, the leaders of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) said the prime minister wanted to see economy boost of Balochistan, adding that the CPEC would bring progress and prosperity for the region.
In a statement on Wednesday, they including the Central Senior Vice President, Sardar Yaqoob Nasar, the Provincial General Secretary, Nasibulla Achakzai, Mir Liaquat Lehri, Gohar Mengal, Khuda Bakhsh Langov, Kamal Barozai, Fareed Khan and Saleem Jabbar said that they welcomed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Zhob.
“We welcome our leader in Zhob and laying foundation stone of CPEC,” they said, adding that the mega project would bring progress and prosperity in the region.
They said that CPEC would open doors of development and employment on Balochistan.
“Prime Minister Nawaz has fulfilled his promise of launching great development projects for Balochistan,” they said.
