ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: A meeting of parliamentary party leaders was held in Islamabad on Wednesday with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in the chair to discuss prevailing political situation in the country.
The meeting was attended by Leader of the opposition in National Assembly Syed Khurshid Ahmad Shah, Leader of the Opposition in Senate Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan, MNAs Dr Muhammad Farooq Sattar, Mehmood Khan Achakzai, Haji Ghulam Ahmad Bilour, Ijaz ul Haq, and Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao.
During the meeting, the prime minster stressed for resolving all political issues on the Parliament’s forum.
The prime minister said that serious efforts are underway to ensure good governance in the country through a consultative process which also includes the opposition parties.
Sharif said that all political parties should play their due role in transforming Pakistan into a prosperous and developed country.
The premier expressed his commitment that the government is taking all out measures to streamline the economy and provide better facilities of life to the poor.
Nawaz Sharif stressed that top most priority of the government is to provide relief to the poor and to further improve country’s economy.
