LAHORE: An election tribunal on Tuesday disqualified MPA Sardar Muhammad Khan Jatoi of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) for possessing a fake degree.
Jatoi won the seat in the Punjab assembly after he defeated Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) candidate Sardar Samiullah Khan in Muzaffargarh’s PP-259 constituency during the May 2013 general elections.
However, the PPP candidate filed a plea with the election tribunal against the PML-N MPA, arguing the latter had a fake degree.
The tribunal disqualified the PML-N candidate and called for re-election in Jatoi’s constituency Muzaffargarh’s PP-259.
