ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Central Executive Committee (CEC) of ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has decided to sue the Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal for his allegations of money laundering against the former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
The PML-N’s CEC made the decision when it met at the Punjab House in Islamabad on Friday under the Chairmanship of its Quaid Nawaz Sharif. The PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif and party’s top leadership participated in the CEC meeting.
Sources said that the PML-N’s CEC strongly denounced the money laundering allegation leveled by NAB against Nawaz Sharif, and decided that legal action would be taken against its Chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal.
While addressing the CEC meeting, Nawaz Sharif said that he rejects the explanation of the Chairman NAB. He said that an act of revenge in the name of accountability is not acceptable.
Nawaz Sharif reiterated his demand that the Chairman NAB should himself tender his resignation.
In the meeting, the PML-N’s CEC also decided to constitute Parliamentary Board, Election Cell and Manifesto Committee. It also approved the establishment of Parliamentary Board to award party tickets.
