ISLAMABAD: Amna Masood Janjua arrested. Police baton-charge relatives of missing persons in Islamabad. Several persons were injured while human rights activist Amna Masood Janjua was arrested among others when police resorted to baton-charge and tear gas shelling on demonstrators protesting over the missing persons issue in Islamabad on Monday.
The protesters were staging a demonstration over the missing persons issue at D-Chowk in Islamabad. However, when protesters attempted to approach the Parliament house, the police personnel jumped into action.
Subsequently, a clash also erupted between protesters and police personnel during which several persons including six police personnel injured.
Moreover, police also detained several protestors including Defence of Human Rights Pakistan Chairperson Amna Masood Janjua.
The police personnel also tried to stop the media from covering the event.
