Political crises: Federal govt teams hold separate talks with PTI, PAT

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: In a bid to resolve current political crisis in the country, the negotiating teams of the federal government held separate talks with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT).

In the second round of talks between the government and the PTI teams held in Islamabad last night, both the sides agreed to continue their talks for resolving current political crises.

The government committee headed by the Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar was comprised on federal ministers Zahid Hamid, Pervaiz Rasheed, Ahsan Iqbal and Abdul Qadir Baloch while the PTI committee comprised on Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Javed Hashmi, Pervez Khattak, Jehangir Tareen, Dr Arif Alvi and Asad Umar.

The talks continued for over two hours and both sides exchanged their points of view on the demands put by PTI.

Later talking to media, Ahsan Iqbal said that both the committees presented their point of view. He said that both are moving forward the talks through understanding each other’s’ stance.

In addition, he said that both the committees will consult their leadership on the movement of dialogue and issues discussed in the meeting.

Meanwhile, in a separate meeting the committees of the government and the PAT held second round of talks at D-Chowk of Islamabad last night and discussed suggestions to defuse the political crises.

The talks which began after midnight continued about one and half hour.
