ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has said that it will allot election symbols to political parties on March 19, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported on Saturday.
According to ECP press release, all the Political Parties who have applied for Election Symbols for General Elections‚ 2013 are requested to send a representative of their party to attend the meeting at the ECP Secretariat Islamabad.
The commission said that if any political party does not send its representative to the meeting, it would be then alloted a symbol in the light of the preferences shown by the party in its application.
The election authorities have asked political parties to file fresh applications for election symbols that will be used to contest the forthcoming polls.
In a press statement, the ECP directed all those parties that fulfill the provisions of the Political Parties Order, 2002 to submit their requests by March 15.
