Polling under way in PK-95 Lower Dir by-polls

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The polling continues on Thursday in PK-95 by-election, a constituency of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Lower Dir district.

It will continue till 05:00 pm without any interval so that more than 140,000 voters will use their right to franchise.

The election commission has established 85 polling stations in the constituency. As many as 33 polling stations have been declared most sensitive and 42 sensitive.

The district administration has announced a public holiday in the district as well as arranged strict security to avoid any untoward situation during the polling.

The Jamaat-e-Islami’s (JI) Aizazul Mulk and Haji Bahadur Khan of the Awami National Party (ANP) are the main contenders in the election.

The seat got vacated after election of Sirajul Haq as Senator in March this year.
