ISLAMABAD: The recently issued Protection of Pakistan (Amendment) Ordinance (PPO) 2014 was challenged in the Supreme Court o Pakistan on Monday because it is in conflict with the constitution.
A petition was filed in the apex court by Col (retd) Inam-ur-Raheem on Monday asking the court to declare the ordinance null and void.
The federation, minister of law and justice, ministry of interior and principal secretary to the president were made respondents in the petition.
The petition stated that all peace-disrupting elements shell be treated as enemies of the state without any compunction’, and states protection of life to be the state’s top priority.
