KARACHI, Pakistan: The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will shortly address the public meeting in Karachi as the party is observing seventh anniversary of the Karsaz tragedy on Saturday.
The public meeting is being held at Bagh-e-Jinnah near the mausoleum of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah in Karachi.
The supporters of the PPP are arriving at the venue from different parts of the country.
Meanwhile, fool proof security arrangements have been made to meet any untoward incident.
The Inspector General (IG) Sindh Police Ghulam Haider Jamali has said that unusual security arrangements have been made to protect the life and property of the citizens on the eve of public meeting being held in Karachi today.
Talking to media in Karachi, he said that police is looking after over all law and order situation and additional police have been deployed on the routes of the caravans and in and around of the venue of public meeting near the near the Quaid’s mausoleum.
The IG Sindh Police said that enhancing police patrolling, strict snap checking and monitoring is also being carried out. In addition sweeping, scanning and searching of the venue of the public meeting have also been undertaken.
On October 18, 2007, former Prime Minister Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and her procession were attacked at Karsaz in Karachi resulting in deaths of 150 workers and injuring several others.
