ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The senior leader of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has been arrested by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in assets beyond means case.
Khursheed Shah was arrested from Bani Gala on Wednesday in a joint raid conducted by NAB Rawalpindi and NAB Sukkur.
The NAB sources said that the PPP stalwart will be produced before the relevant Accountability Court in Sukkur on Thursday for a remand.
They said that the inquiry against Khursheed Shah was initiated on August 7. The PPP leader is accused of illegally registering an empty plot in his name for a bungalow in Cooperative Society.
The NAB sources said that Syed Khursheed Shah established hotels, petrol pumps and bungalows in the names of front men and benami individuals. He will be shifted to Sukkur under the transit remand.
It is worth mentioning that he was summoned today by the NAB Sukkur; however, he excused to appear due to the session of the national assembly.
