ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) have reached consensus to abolish governor rule in Balochistan and install Q-League’s Leader of the House in the provincial assembly, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported on Thursday. However, the announcement to end the governor rule will be made after consultations with President Asif Ali Zardari.
In a late night meeting held at the PM House, both the parties held consultations over myriad issues including end to governor rule in Balochistan and establishment of a provincial government.
During the meeting, both the parties agreed on contesting the general elections on separate electoral symbols; however, they decided to keep intact their alliance during the elections as well.
The two parties also gave thought to seat adjustment plan in the elections; however, the finishing touches to any such formula will be given in the next meeting, sources said.
In addition, the PML-Q was assured during the negotiations that none of its members will be given the PPP ticket, nor will any of its members be allowed to join the PPP.
